Inverted Nipple Correction

Inverted nipples are a condition affecting some women that may cause introversion concerning their physical appearance. In some cases this condition is congenital and women have had it their entire life. In other cases, the nipples may invert following a pregnancy, at which point they may be corrected.

There are a number of successful techniques that have been developed to handle the condition of inverted nipples. The technique used depends upon anatomical circumstances relating to your breasts. Dr. Vladimir Grigoryants is well versed in all inverted nipple correction techniques and after a thorough examination will be able to assess which technique is most appropriate.

Procedure

Nipple inversion is caused by a band within the breasts that constricts correct nipple projection. This is a natural occurrence and is in no way harmful to your body. Inverted nipple correction is performed through a small incision at the base of the nipple, effectively releasing this constrictive band and restoring your nipple to its rightful perky appearance. Post operatively, the nipple is maintained for several weeks using a suture taped to the breast.

Most patients are fully satisfied with initial results of inverted nipple correction. In some rare cases, patients may require a touch-up procedure to further improve nipple projection. Dr. Vladimir Grigoryants will consult with you after the procedure to determine if this is necessary.
